While walking around Manchester a few days ago I came across this tree with lights. It has also fallen victim to some Lightroom experimentation.
Due to a reading week for my students at work I had the opportunity to go away for a few days and decided to take a trip to the coast. I also recently bought a 10 stop ND filter by Gobe so I decided to try some long exposure coast line photography. You can find the complete set of edited pics here.

So the summer holidays are a distant but happy memory and once again I return back to teaching. For another year I am at Leeds College of Music but this year I am teaching digital instrument design and interactivity which for those me know well are some of my main interests.
Before going away on holiday I decided that it would be nice to get a longer prime to give me a little more reach while away.
I have been greatly enjoying the Lumix GX80 that I got a few weeks ago.
A few weeks ago as the academic summer holiday was getting closer I began to think about things I would like to do over the holiday. (Of course in the fine tradition of academic work I will also be writing a new module and carrying out research.) A previous hobby of mine, which unintentionally became quite serious, was photography and I decided that I would like to once again take it up.

It has been a while since I have blogged here as I just got very busy with lots of things.
An incredible tip that I found today when I finally got feed up with pasting text into Scrivner and having to deal with all the different text formats at compile time.
I wanted to mark the passing of Billy Graham here and I was reminded of a Ted talk he gave a number of years ago regarding Technology, faith and human shortcomings.
