Scott Hewitt (BA, MMus, PhD) is interested in the future of creative industries in the post surveillance capitalism world. He is interested in how education can prepare individuals for a vulnerable world rich with dangerous AIs, disrupted by rule breakers and yet populated by victims.

Scott Hewitt performed through his formative years within brass bands, choirs and bands while finding his way to music technology. Having worked within theatre, Scott headed off to Huddersfield to complete a BA in Music Technology and later a MMus from Goldsmith College in Studio Composition. He completed a PhD in Notation for Laptop Ensembles, at Huddersfield University where he started the Huddersfield Experimental Laptop Orchestra and its post graduate sibling HELOpg. He currently lectures at Leeds College of Music teaching audio production, Ableton, ChucK, instrument design, Max and spatial audio.
