This Week

Been a right busy week, but I’ve finally got a moment to jot down some thoughts. Sometimes it’s the little victories and small pleasures that make all the difference, isn’t it?
Breaking in New Kicks (Painfully)
So I treated myself to some new shoes last week. Day two of wearing them and I ended up with blisters. Still, I’m not giving up on them that easily. I reckon I just got a bit overexcited and walked too much in them straight away.
Pacey Witter Has Won Me Over
I’ve finally made it to the end of season 3 of Dawson’s Creek, and I’ve got to say - I’m firmly on Team Pacey this time round. Don’t know what it says about me that my allegiances have shifted since I first watched it years ago! The soundtrack has been absolutely brilliant as well. It’s funny how much those songs take me right back. Makes me wonder how much shows like this actually shaped my ideas about relationships and growing up. We absorb so much from what we watch, don’t we? The whole coming-of-age drama thing definitely got into my head at a formative time, for better or worse!
Easter Viewing with Substance
During the Easter hols, I’ve been watching ‘The Chosen’ as well. Have you seen it? It’s that series about Jesus and his followers. I was proper impressed with how well it’s put together - the production quality is top-notch, and it feels surprisingly modern despite the setting. Found it quite challenging in places too - makes you think about the familiar stories in a different light. Not your typical Easter viewing perhaps, but it’s been a refreshing change from chocolate eggs and fluffy bunnies.
Podcast Progress and Plans
Managed to record two more episodes of the Edge of Education podcast this week. They’re turning out to be really useful, not just for sharing teaching practice tips but also for developing some business ideas I’ve been playing with. Funny how conversations intended for one purpose can spark ideas for something completely different! We’re looking to bring on some guests for upcoming episodes, so if you know anyone with interesting perspectives on education who fancies a chat, give me a shout. Always good to get some fresh voices in the mix!
