Everest Mysteries

The mountain of Everest has always fascinated me. In my younger years I enjoyed hill walking in the Lake district and perhaps would have ambitions to ascend it however, I do not believe that is the case now, but maybe I would still like to go see it?
Regardless, I have two main ongoing points of interest regarding it, the 1924 mystery and the 1996 disaster.
So Youtuber Michael Tracy on Mallory and Irvine, some thought proving analysis from the last few years regarding 1924.
The Michael Tracy videos are interesting and he also has an ongoing series regarding 1996 where he pushes very hard regarding Jon Krakauer account regarding the 1996 disaster. In 2025 YouTube style, Jon Krakauer has replied,
The YouTuber on a Mission to Trash My Book, Chapter One: Traffic Jams on Mount Everest in 1996
I suspect both playlists will be updated more and I hope perhaps they have opportunity to discuss a unified account as the claim, rebuttal counter claim method is perhaps unnecessarily adversarial?
Also a really interesting tool in investigating the 1924 evidence was created by Jake Norton who has a good introduction to the material even if slightly dated now.
