Sound and Music EXPO

Just the beginning of a crazy weekend.

On September 27th and October 3rd 2009 I am leading a workshop on the Laptop as a musical instrument in Manchester UK.

The workshops are being hosted by The Noise Upstairs and explore methods of improvising and performing with laptop computers.

For more details either download the workshop pdf here, or check online here.

On Saturday I am attempting to walk the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, 25 miles and a total climb of 5,200 feet.

The route will take us up Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.

I’m doing it as part of a team from my local church to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis and with my good friend Matthew.

Please sponsor me online at http://www.justgiving.com/mssociety-ploddera/

Ingleborough from Great Shunner Fell on an earlier walk this summer.

In support of my Chuck A Day project I have written a basic php ChucK highlighter.

Available here.

Free to use just don’t be nasty if it does not work.

Over the last week I have been doing a bit of ChucK programming every day as part of my own ChucK a Day project.

ChucK is a strongly timed, audio programming language which is all about timing, it most basic concern is about the progression of time to now.

You can find out more about ChucK here.

You can follow my progress at www.ablelemon.co.uk/chuckaday.

If you have any ideas as to things I should try and do in ChucK or if you need some audio processing for something. send me suggestions to @scotthewitt
